I replaced head gaskets in my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder with the help of a friend and he removed the four bolts in the right intake cam gear and it moved, I was hoping you could tell me the correct position of the gear.

The sprockets should be marked for timing purposes. The engine is positioned so the crankshaft pully mark faces up. The cam pulley will align with a reference mark on the cylender head or timing belt cover. I have attached pictures indicating locations. I hope this helps.
