Bought a new cable and replaced the old 1. Everything from the gear up is working but still no speedo, what in the gearbox could be causing it and is it a big problem to fix? Your input will be appreciated. Murray

Yeh thanks but my 2001 triton is cable driven speedo with no sensor. Cable is brand new the gear that bolts into gearbox is good it seems to be something in the gearbox (worm gear possibly) thats not allowing cable to turn

It may have a plastic/nylon gear and those have been known to break or strip you should be able to tell if the gear is removed from box. We don't have that model here in us. If you have a manual it should be similar I've pointed what to look at in pics.
