2001 Mitsubishi Montero Transmission problem

Parked Montero sport XLS on hill came back out to leave started car put in gear but would not move put in n and coasted down hill to put in garage went to push car backward into garage and could not push felt like it was stuck in gear but car started but would not move. So we took driveshaft off and then we could push car backward into garage where do I start need HELP

See how much fluid is in it I f full have a trans guy look at ait.

It may not be the answer you were looking for but with the info you gave it leaves us no other choice but to give an answer like I did. That is why we send you to a trans guy who is more familiar with them. Was the fluid full?Were there any codes? Is the fluid dark brown or black if it is probably the trans is shot

Fluid was full, there were no codes and the fluid was red

Guess you just don't understand. Take this to a trans guy so he can do pressure check s and se if trans actually works or not . We can't diagnose your problem with the information you have given us. I have no further suggestions or comments.
