car will not start

car will not start, started I turned it off because I left something in the house and then it did not start. tried to jump start but did nothing. when i turn the key nothing no click like starter just a hum sound.

You could have a bad starter i would start by having your battery tested also make sure your battery cables are clean and tight.Do you have a multimeter to do some testing?

I will have battery tested. Do not have a multimeter. Will also clean and tighten cables. Thank You

Keep me posted if it's not the battery or cable's you will need a multimeter to test voltage reading at the starter.That's easier then pulling the starter and having it tested.You can get a multimeter pretty cheap.
