When accelerating in the lower two gears of my 2001 Mitsubishi Diamante, I hear a loud, rotational squealing noise from the right side under the hood (adjacent to the right-front tire). However, when the transmission up-shifts the 2nd time, the squealing instantly disappears. It has gotten progressively worse over the last couple weeks, and I've also started smelling a slight burnt rubber smell from time to time. It seems very likely to me that a belt needs to be adjusted and/or replaced, but if so, which one?
