2001 Mercury Sable engine

We I put car in drive it needs extra gas to go & when you let off the gas it stops/deselerates quickly. I took it around the block but I was scared to go over 25 miles an hour. It sems like something is dragging/slowing it down. Help - please let me know ideas on problem & costs to fix it, thanx

REGARDING THE LINK, WITHIN MY LINK........YES, "A124" IS STILL WORKING AT THE "ADVANCE AUTO PARTS" SITE.......ANOTHER JEEP PAL OF MINE JUST BOUGHT A RADIATOR ONLINE YESTERDAY, PICKED IT UP AT THE LOCAL STORE 30 MINUTES LATER, FOR HIS WRANGLER, IT WAS $129......A124 KNOCKED OFF $40!
