I had someone pour chicken grease and bones into my water tank of my mercury. I had run it with the grease in there and I know it is atleast in my radiator prob. In my engine block. How would I go about getting this cleaned out. My car overheats within 10 of starting the car how would I correct this? I know it needs a new thermo. I can do this myself I am a novice car tech. (I can change my oil, and simple things of that nature) I can do anything as long as I have a starting off point. I also Know it needs a tune up how would I do this? I know these are alot of questions but I dont have anyone else that can do this or help me in this so any input would be invaluable. Thanks so much for your information

Cooling system flush. New plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, cap and rotor, if so equipped.

The radiator may need to come out and be what we call rodded out at a radiator repair shop. If hot coolant isn't able to get through the radiator to dislodge the grease, it has to be rodded out.

GLAD TO SEE SOMEONE POSTED YOUR BOND

ALONG WITH THE OTHER STUFF, MR. HEATER CORE MAY BE GOBBED UP ALSO

IF YOU DO GET THE RADIATOR CLEANED OUT

YOU MIGHT ALSO RUN PLAIN OLE WATER--GET ENGINE TO OPERATING TEMP AND DRAIN IMMEDIATELY.A FEW TIMES, JUST TO LIQUEFY ANY GREASE THAT WAS IN THE REST OF THE SYSTEM, SO IT MIGHT EVACUATE, WHEN DRAINED

DO NOT GET BURNED! BE REALLY CAREFUL! IF IN DOUBT. DON'T DO IT!

I WOULD BLEED PRESSURE AT THE RAD CAP---AND THEN DRAIN. USING A TOWEL OVER BOTH, IN BOTH SITUATIONS. BUT THIS IS WHAT "I" WOULD DO. YOU BE CAREFUL!
