My cougar 2001 mercury makes the so called moaning noise sometimes at idle and all the time in between 2000 RPM and 1700 RPM. Is there anything I could do to fix at home. Or would it need new parts and how much? I read some info online and says it's the air intake manifold but what can i do?

Yes, this is an easy repair, remove the idle air control motor (IAC) and replace it, this is a common Ford problem. Thanks for using 2Carpros.com
