My S600 engine won't turn and won't start (upon switching the EIS, instrument panel lights up and Autoboss scanner is capable of commanding and activating fanfare horn at left SAM module). I've installed a new battery last month May 2011 and check with Midtronics which reads 600CCA 12.65volts (enough juice to crank the engine but even a slight reaction it response to none). I've also tested the starter relay and its working fine, i've also check the line to ground voltage terminal 85 & 30 of the starter relay socket and starter fuse indicating good battery voltage (right SAM module). Is my EIS dead? Can I make jump across the starter relay socket terminal 30 to 87 upon ignition switch ON to make a force start and at the same time to test my starter if it is also dead (will it damage anything)? Any advice would be a great help :)

It sounds like the security system is engaged. When you crank the car over does the security light flash?

If so then exit the car and roll up the windows, lock the car using the remote. Then wait 30 minutes and unlock the car and it should start.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

1) we drove car forward and hit our garage door. Its a bad hit but the car was fine. We backed up the car to the drive way. After shut off the engine the car won't start again. Its crank but it won't turn over. I don't wont to keep cranking because it will kill the battery.
2) The trunk will not open. No trunk release button in side at all. When I insert the key to open the trunk, I notice that there is no "catching" the key can turn 360degree with out feeling any catch. I tried to remove the back seat to gain access to the trunk but I could not remove the back of the seat!
Please help. Thank you.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your troubles, for the engine trouble we need start from the basics which are detailed by following this link:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-cranks-but-wont-start

It sounds like the linkage inside the trunk has come loose which is rough because sometimes not even removing the rear seat will help, I would call the dealer for more information on this problem.

Please let us know how it goes.

Best, Ken
