2001, mazda, protege, 2.0 liter, auto trans, switch located on the front side of car directly under the air filter box.
Is the neutral safety switch something that can be ajusted? if so, which direction do I adjust it, clockwise (left) or counter clockwise (right)

So the starter is inop?Before you go adjusting anything i would do some testing first.DO you have a multimeter to do some testing?ALso have you had the battery tested and made sure the battery cables are clean and tight?
