"Tune-up" isn't really the right word anymore. You will find maintenance recommendations in the owner's manual but in general, spark plugs and wires can last 100,000 miles thanks to computer controls and fuel injection systems. Fuel filters last a long time too. Air filters should be replaced more often. Most manufacturers recommend oil changes every 3,000 miles for "severe" conditions. It is almost impossible to meet the "normal" conditions.
It's a lot more important to pay attention to timing belt recommendations and do not wait as long as is recommended. Most import engines are of the "interference" design. If the timing belt breaks, the open valves will be hit by the pistons as they coast to a stop. The valves will be bent and need to be replaced. That will turn perhaps a $500.00 job into a $3,000.00 job real fast.
