I have a 2001 Mazda B3000 and in the process of replacing the front shocks. My question is, do I need to make any adjustments to the torsion bar to install the new shock absorbers? I was told that the shocks I purchased is the correct one. I'm about 4-5 inches away from the bottom mounts.

No, you need not. The shocks are removed and installed by removing the upper and lower mounting nuts and bolts.

Did you compare the extended length of both new and old shocks?

Use a jack to lift up the lower control arm to enable the shocks to be installed.
