My car is not turning over. Everything turns on fine so I know its not a battery.
I'm wondering if it is a starter or fuel pump and I don't know how to tell which
It is. Please advise approximate cost for each. Thanks
I don't understand how this would fix my problem. Car was working fine until last night

Because if your security system is engaged it won't let thecar start, might be the battery is in poor condition as well which could engage your security system. Most places check batteries for free.

If I disconnect the negative battery cable and reconnect it, will that disable the system?

No it will probably make it engaged and won't start. If you have another key try that.
