2001 Land Rover Discovery 2 Brake Pads New Pedal Feels Long E M Really

Brake pads are new but the the pedal feels "long", i.e. I'm really having to anticipate breaking, and press a lot sooner and harder, in order to stop or slow down the vehicle. Any ideas? There's also some gurguly liquid sounds on the passenger side.

try adjust riear brakes if drum style and bleeding system.
