I have a 2001 Kia Sportage. I will be slowly coming to an intersection and it sometimes quits on me. It first sputters and then quits shortly after. Then there is times when I start it up and put it in reverse and it quits right away. I had the spark plugs changed about a year ago and that made no difference. I am really confused since sometimes it runs great and then other times it sputters and then quits. Any idea what would cause this problem?

thanks

Seems like the idling speed is too low.
Try cleaning the IAC and throttle body.

Thank you. I had the check engine light come on. Had it checked out and it said engine misfire. Would the IAC and throttle body problem cause this light to come on?

thanks

no have a pro check this as they are really hard to diagnose what is causing the problem.
