I have a 2001 kia sportage 4x4 2.0. Having a fuel issue. I have spark but will not start. I am getting gas to fuel rail but injectors not firing. I have replaced the fuel and EGI relays after both tested bad. I have checked the fuel pump, which is working fine, and changed the fuel filter. I pulled the fuel pressure regulator and gas came out of rail. I plugged back in regulator and had someone roll over the engine nothing came out so held pressure on the out side for a moment while someone rolled over the engine and gas finally came out of there. So I believe it is opening and shutting for pressure needs. If you spray gas into the intake it will run an idle until gas sprayed is gone. So im at a loss as to what I should do next.

Have you checked the injectors to see if they are getting power (pulse)?

You need to start working back from the injectors to see where power is lost as well as to check the grounds for continuity.

We are not finding any breaks in electrical system or fuses. If we run a hot wire from battery to fuel injector the kia starts an runs.

Okay, either the pin connector at the PCM is corroded, a pin pushed in and not making contact, a broken ground, or a bad PCM is the issue.

The easiest thing to check is the ground. Check it for contunuity. If it is good, then we need to move to the PCM to see if the harness is good. If it is, then we have to go directly to the PCM and check for a pulse from the module itself. If there is NO pulse there, the PCM will need replaced.
