2000 Kia Sportage gas tank

2000 Kia Sportage Two Wheel Drive Automatic 10,000 miles

I just bought a used Kia Sportage and the second time I tried to fill the gas tank, the gas would not go in and came out the top, unless I put it in painfully slow. What is going on?

Check your EVAP purge solenoid valve, check valve and the fuel tank pressure sensor. Usually, when either part is defective, it doesn't release the tank pressure when it is supposed to. As the tank is pressurized, you cannot add more fuel because of it.
