2001 Kia Sportage Brake Light On Dash Remains On Brakes Emergency Auto Parts

Brake light on dash remains on. Brakes or emergency brake not on. Auto Parts store said is the brake switch bad. Wondering where it is located to change it and approx price and time/difficulty for job?

The brake light switch is on the top of the brake pedal. However, that won't turn the light on. Check the switch on the parking brake. It may be out of adjustment. Also, make sure the brake fluid is full.
