my car does not shift right when the car is cold

i have a 2001 kia sephia 1.8 auto some times when i put it in drive it does not it trys to pull out in high gear but i can pull it down in to first manualy and pull out but when the car warms up it does good but it want go in o/d

Symptoms indicates the transmission has some valve control problems and I would suggest starting with chcking for trouble codes.

Also ensure the transmission fluid level is correct and condition of fluid is good.
