When I pushed in the clutch it made a pop sound. The pedal sank and to push it in I have to push really hard. It still feels like the clutch is engaging though. I had the clutch replaced 2 years ago.

in any case, check out the parts including pedal assembly for any failures of brackets or supports and other possible breaking points.

Thanks fixitmr. If it were a bracket or spring is that something I can fix myself? I'm just really hoping I don't have to replace the clutch, being the holidays who has an extra $400.

Try lubricating the cable pivots.

until you determine problem point we wont know if it's easily fixable. when you say pedal is down do you mean freeplay has increased or freeplay has no return-up to it or actual pedal itself is out of original position?

the underhood parts can be watched operating to see if anything looks outa whack there. or you will have to have a mechanic give an opinion if you cant come up with anything.
