My jeep is sticking in 3rd gear.

It will shift manually or If I shut engine off and restart, it will upshift for one cycle but then wont down shift. I had a p1762 code and replaced govenor solenoid and sensor. for the first few runs it appeared to be ok. but after I did a hard acceleration it started acting up again. Currently I do not have any trouble codes. Could it be the kick down cable, TCM OR TRANS ITSELF.

It becomes a guessing game without any trouble codes. The TCM itself could be bad. I feel it should be checked.
