2001 Jaguar S-Type rear door is jammed

Hey, basically i am on this for my dad as he has spent months trying to unjam the door on his jag s type ... It just wouldn't open one day and hasn't done ever since. He has tried removing the inside of the door and tried freeing it up. hes not too sure what to do about this now... Please help.

if door panel is off then there should be a rod that connects to the latch the clip may be broken but see if you can reconnect the rod and pull on it to open door then when door is open try replacing the clip as you'll have more room. Make sure door lock isn't engaged. item 1 in pic is for rod engagement on front door. also this is cable operated so it may have a broken cable from inside.

sorry re is pic of rear door actuator see if where arrow is pointing that cable is broken.
