Check engine light flashes when I accelerate but engine runs smooth. Code says misfire but not misfiring. New plugs, coil paks, egr valve, pcv valve, throttle body and hoses, just done. Idles smooth and quiet. Cleaned mass air flow senser as well. Any ideas??

I think you are wrong about that engine not misfiring. The flashing light indicates it is misfiring bad enough to damage the Catalytic Converter. Get it diagnosed properly before you end up buying a converter also.

Timing belt and water pump were replaced at same time as well as manifold gaskets. Shop ran a full computer scan to verify no misfire. They checked vacumn lines as well. Mechanic tried to reset code but no luck.
Catalytic converter is clear as well. Stumped???

I'm not stumped at all. You just need a different mechanic that knows how to diagnose it properly. You have a misfire and the computer is seeing it.

Ok, thanks. Been using this mechanic for 23 years and his company has a great reputation locally. I'll try another avenue.
