2001 Hyundai Sonata Brake Lights

My cars tail lights will not turn off. Even when the key is out and the headlights are not on. The only way to turn them off is to disconnect the battery. When you hook the battery back up, they turn right back on.

No, when you press your foot on the brake, the light just stays dim like a tail light.

If it is the brake lights that are staying on, I feel the problem is in the brake light switch. It is located on the top of the brake pedal. Check to see if it is properly adjusted first. IF it is, check it for operation. If it seems to work properly, check to see if there is both power in to it and if there is power out.
