My 2001 Hyundai Elantra would not start the other day. Auto club jumped it and it started right up. When the tech took the cables off the battery it stopped running. Took battery and alternator to shop and had them checked. Alternator bad and was replaced. Jumped started fine but stopped when I took the jump off. Heard a clicking from the Main relay in the fuse box. I am going to replace it. Is there something else that may be causing the problem. Is there a fuse of something that may have been messed up?

Need to test the generator on the car. If it's not charging the battery, the engine will stop when the battery runs down. There's usually a fuse feeding the generator. It could have blown from the previous problem. There could also be a wiring problem to the generator. Start by charging the battery for an hour with a battery charger so the engine will stay running. Then use an inexpensive digital voltmeter to measure battery voltage while the engine is running. It must be between 13.75 and 14.75 volts. If it is low, the generator is not working.
