Had the engine oil of my hyundai elantra 2001 model changed only last week but the car emits so much white smoke after the engine idles for some time. what might be the cause please

White smoke from exhaust is an indication of an intake/headgasket failure.

Have a compresson test performed to find out.

Also make sure the cooling fans are working, is engine overheating?

No, the engine is not overheating. Is it expensive to have the headgasket changed.

Yes, usually over $1,000 depending on if you change one or both headgaskets.

Was car OK BEFORE the oil change?
