before shifting and then the rpms stay really high

What would cause the throttle to open really wide for a while before shifting and then the rpms stay really high...also there is a little knocking also there is a little knocking noise that i hear all the time. any ideas?

Have the transmission checked out sounds like its a shift solenoid, Have it checked anfd replaced if needed.

make sure the trottle cable isnt sticking.
