My ignition key light stays lit when the key is removed and the car is parked and turned off. I have all lights off and stereo off but this light will remain on. I also noticed that I am unable to now lock the car with my remote. It will unlock and pop the hatch but it will not lock the car. I can do so with the key. I am afraid this key light will drain my battery or let my car sit somewhere.

Check the key-in switch at ignition lock. It could be stuck in the on position and indicating that key is in ignition even if it is not. Spray some WD-40 into the key slot and insert key and withdraw a few times quickly to see if the light goes off.

When door is opened with headlights turned on, does a beeper sound?
