Hello my mum was driving her holden Astra city 2001 today when the emissions serving light came on how do I fix it? Is it as simple as doing a service or do I have to take it to holden dealership?

That is hard to say because the emissions system involves a lot of different components. Since the light is on, you should have the computer scanned so we know exact codes. These codes will direct us to the source of the problem. Without that info, it becomes a guessing game.

If the car is still running good, chances are it has an EVAP leak. If you can, have the computer scanned and let me know what you find.

It may have been something foolish like a loose fuel cap. If it comes back on, then I would have it scanned.
