I went to open the bonnet and heard a twang, and a thud. I realised that the cord has broken. I have elevated the front of the car however can not seem to access anything that will help open the bonnet. I have also removed the foot panel on the interior - however this is of little help as the cord broke at the other end. Please help

Hello,

Look close at the cable to see if it is broken from the release handle. if is use a pair of pliers so grab the end of the cable and open the hood, Have someone help by pushing down on the hood.

If the hood still wont open you will need to jack the car up.

and look for the cable underneath to pull the release. Also sometimes you can see the hood latch through the front grill which then you can use a long flat screwdrivers to release the hood and replace the cable.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
