I am trying to figure out if the starter or solenoid is bad on my truck. Twice I went to crank it and the starter did not even click. I had bright lights and good voltage on the battery, so I tapped on the starter with a hammer while another person turned the ignition key. It fires right up. Should I replace the whole assembly?

If starter issue, I'd replace starter and solenoid as a unit.
