gmc steering help

my 2001 gmc sierra 5.3L is hard to steer. if i jack up the front end it steers fine. ive turn back and forth to bleed to air out, but no luck. there is plenty of fluid, and the belt is in tact. please help, atleast where to start!

If no power steering is what your indicating, very common for the pump shafts to break inside the power steering pumps, an easy way to find out if the shaft has broke is to remove the belt, grasp power steering pulley and pull, if it comes out, the shaft is broken and will have to be replaced.
