changed erg valve and have a ticking or clicking noise from the new valve. Is there a defeat in the part?

I would think that this valve is faulty.

I did to, so went out and got a new one because the other one was still under warranty. This one did the same thing only it became louder.Think it could be by timing chain ?

Use a long screw driver as a stethoscope, one end on the timing cover and place ear on other end, you will hear any noise and this will help narrow down the location of your noise.
