I have a 2001 gmc jimmy. It starts and idles normally in park, but when shifted into reverse or drive, it dies unless you give it gas. It will drive fine but when coming to a stop it will die if you don't keep giving it gas. The fuel pump and filter are only a little over a year old. what is the most likely cause of this problem?

fuelpressure shold be 52-59 psi for a 3.4L and 60-66 for a 4.3L check that first. then clean the throttle plate onboth sides with choke cleaner they gum up. truck may behard tostart after cleaning throttle plate if it is floor it to start. see if this clears it up.
