Code P0118, where is the engine coolant sensor located?

Cannot find the engine coolant sensor. The vehicle started running poorly. The next time trying to start the vehicle it struggled to start, and the engine temperature gauge immediately went straight to hot than dropped back down to cold. Now it won't adjust up with the engine temperature. Did a hard reset on the van. After that the van seemed to run better. Now it will not start at all, code P0118.

Yep, I have seen shorted engine coolant temperature sensors cause this problem.

P0118: Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Circuit High Input

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor - Located on the top left side of the engine.

Here is the location so the sensor, so you can change it out. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
