Worn piston rings, scored cylinder wall, worn valve guide seals, excessive oil pressure, cracked piston, leaking intake manifold gasket oil diluted with raw gas. Those are general possibilities that don't pertain to all engines. You didn't even bother to list the engine size, let alone any other symptoms or observations.
