I needed to replace my dead battery on my 2001 Ford Taurus, now it will not even turn over. Any tips?

If it cranked before you replaced the battery, make sure you bought the right one, it needs the same cold cranking and reserve that Ford recommends. Then recheck the cable connections. Pos on Pos and Neg on neg in that order.

I get nothing at all when I turn the key (except for the electric components coming on) Is it possible that it is some sort of anti theft system?

I bought the exact same battery that I had in there before.
