Hi I recently bought a ranger to turn into a race truck it didn't have keys with it so I took out the key cylinder the ole fashion way. My issue is its getting spark and fuel turns over well but still won't fire I'm attatching a link to see a blue sensor by the key switch is this sensor a pats shutoff . I thought it was a round ring for paats.
Also what else should I check ?

Your old fashion way set the security system so either fix the switch now and reset security system.

Check online there may be a resistor you can add to override the security system. Or rewire it with out the system attached.

Thanks for the info. I got a new key switch and was going to try that and I noticed I couldn't hear the fuel pump running like it should I jumped the fuel pump off the battery and it started and moved fine. Thank you for your help the security feature must just shut off the fuel supply. I now know how to make her run when converted into the race truck teardown starts tomorrow and then she's in the garage for roll cage. Note to anyone with a 2.5l ranger pre 2006 it doesn't only shut down power to pump?
