Squeaking

Why is my car makeing a squeking noise? It only starts when I turn it on and then later when I drive it it would go away. Plz help

Can you tell aprox where it is coming from?

I know it's from the belt. I replaced it with a new one. When ever I started it makes that noise. Then later it would stop

One way to confirm it's the belt is to try this. Start the car, open the hood, and pour a small amount of water on the belt to see if the sound changes. If it does, then it's the belt.

If it changes and it's a new belt, make sure the tensionier is good. Also, check the pulleys are not glazed. One last thought, check to make sure no coolant is getting on it. I've seen the water pump have a slight leak and get on the belt causing similar problems.
