Oil

Ive now put 3 litres of oil into my car but the dipstick is still bone dry. Can somebody please help?
i was just doing a regular check on the engine for water and oil. Dipstick was dry. Put 2 ltrs oil in. Checked dipstick and still bone dry. Put a further 1lt in and still the same. I placed cardboard under the bonnet and defo no leak. Its a ford focus 01 1.6. I do a round trip of approx 80 miles per day so im worried it is major. Oil is defo going in the right place :(
