2001 Ford Focus First Start Car Day Engine Really Races Vibrates Diesel Truck

When I first start the car for the day, the engine really races and vibrates like a diesel truck. Sometimes it continues to do it for 1/2 hr or so. Finally calms down.

If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned. If not, check the idle air control valve (IAC).
