Time to bend a coat hanger. Then pry the side of the hood up. Than u have to try and get the hanger to release the lock assy.

I have never seen a hood latch turn both ways to release they move one way towards the drivers side. Did the hood release cable break where it hooks the the hood release lever inside?

All,
Just reviewing this post and thought I would weigh in just in case we have other readers from across the pond. The Export Focus has a bonnet release that you move the Ford badge from the front grille and there is a key slot. Then you turn the key left to pop the latch and then back to the right to release the secondary latch. IF this is not working at all then either the cylinder has failed or the latch itself is seized.
