just bought used car and now it is smoking leaking oil

i have a focus 2001 , 1.8 petrol
i only bought it 2 days ago, and its been driving great !
When i got it home we realised the heater was not working. tonight i drove it for 5 minutes and there was white smoke coming from under the bonnet, my husband looked at it and he said it seems to be oil dripping onto the manifold ??? but he aint no mechanic !!! could be 2 different problems ??? Any idea's

Could be leaking oil or its overheating-find where exactly is the leak at and comeback with the location-
