speedo has stop working

I have a Ford Focus 2001 1.6 zetec 3dr, it has started bouncing at 2200-2500rpm, its eats fuel and the speedo has stop working correctly, i have serviced the car to try and solve but to no avail.

Been serviced but didnt help, speedo comes and goes, engine management light comes on and then off, came up speedo problem, the car is onlt getting about 60miles per quarter tank of fuel, im not heavy footed

Check the vehicle speed sensor. Have the computer scanned to see if there are any trouble codes stored.
