the fuse on my 2001 fiesta flight keeps blowing whenever i plug satnav into the cigarette lighter - any ideas?

IF THE SOCKET LOOKS NASTY INSIDE, OR THE INTERNALS ARE BENT UP (LIKE THE INNER MIDDLE PART (POS) THE PART THAT LATCHES ONTO THE "LIGHTER" PUSHED IN).
IF IT IS BENT OVER, NEARLY TO TOUCHING THE SIDE (NEG) AND THEN WHEN YOU SHOVE THE "NAV DEALEE" INTO IT, IT MIGHT MAKE THE 2, CONTACT EACH OTHER (THE SOCKET INNARDS)---INSTANT SHORT--BLOW MR. FUSE
IF YOU ATTEMPT TO BEND THE INNARDS, REMOVE THE FUSE WHILE YOU TRY
YOU MAY HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE DEAL....MOST ARE ABOUT $10 AT A PARTS STORE
