After fitting a new battery the tacho stopped.

After fitting a new battery the tacho stopped working the needle appears to be full clock and sits on the wrong side of the zero stop all other gauges working OK and tacho was working before battery change

Rev the engine to more than half scale, then the pointer will follow the engine speed back down to normal. It is not spring-loaded like the older reliable gauges. It always looks for the shortest way to where it is supposed to be, and right now that is clockwise to get to "0". Once moving counter-clockwise is the shortest way to where it should be, it will go there.
