car shakes while accelerating at all speeds.

Gets worse the faster you drive. i took to the shop, they said shifted belt in the tires. Had them replaced and still shakes. i didn't have an alignment though. i would imagine that the shop would have checked out the front end, so could it be something else? The steering wheel vibrates and i can't really tell where its shaking from. Could it just need an alignment?
