Water will pass through both front and back heater cores. Are these cores one continuous tube or some other design with some type of bypass if the small tubes are still obstructed? hot air will come out of the vents when you first turn on the heater but temperature of air will cool quickly and extremely fast if you have the fan on high. Doesn't make sense.

water enters and then flows down as it cools and then exits. there are several tubes but not hard to plug up. first step is make sure that your thermostat is working properly and that your heater control valve is working properly if equipped.
