just done a 50 mile round trip and 5 mins from home my battery light comes on, when parking my car felt like the power steering had gone. Apart from new exhaust no problems at all with this car, any ideas?

DID YOU LOOK TO SEE IF YOUR BELT IS STILL THERE?

MAYBE IT'S BROKE AND JUST LAYING IN THERE

yes the alternator belt is ok, dont know where else to look, am a pensioner whos son used to do the mechanics, but he is no longer here, dont really want to get ripped off by a garage.
