Hi I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500. i was wondering what to look at to get my 4-wheel drive working again. It has the lever on the floor and it will go in smoothly. the light comes. it will only kick in once in a great while. i was thinking it was the actuator. Please help thanks

There is a vacuum actuator on the front axle, right side. Check for vacuum in the hoses while the engine is running. If there is no vacuum, suspect the vacuum switch on top of the transfer case. Sometimes the ball on the end gets rusted and won't switch properly.
